What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Seeing noticeable progress in the people receiving my help and watching their confidence grow in the subject.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I have extensive experience of tutoring primary school level math online, which is arguably harder than teaching in person as it requires more conscious effort to maintain engagement etc. I’m also just out of high school so most content is fresh in my mind as well as effective learning strategies that i’ve gaged across my schooling.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

Gaining confidence in the student. Most times any student seeks out a tutor in the first place is fuelled by a lack of confidence. The most important thing we can probably do is to change their own perspective on their own capabilities within the subject. To do so, it would be to teach them effective learning and thinking strategies.

About Patrick

Experience

I've just recently graduated high school out of Ballarat Clarendon College. I've received an ATAR of 97 and a raw 46 in English. I've had extensive experience tutoring primary school level mathematics throughout several holiday periods online and have received excellent feedback from my clients

Strong Academic Foundation in Maths, English and Commerce

Patrick completed secondary school with more than 90% across six senior subjects, including English, two levels of maths and three commerce subjects. This gives him a broad understanding of both literacy and numeracy demands across primary and early high school. He regularly links maths questions to real-world examples from business and everyday life, helping students see why topics like fractions, percentages and graphs actually matter. Parents can be confident he teaches accurate content and current methods.

Organised, Relatable and Easy to Learn With

Having lived in a boarding environment during school, Patrick is used to managing his own time, helping peers with homework and staying organised under pressure. He brings this to tutoring by setting clear goals for each lesson and giving students simple routines they can follow between sessions. Patrick’s calm communication style encourages students to ask questions without embarrassment, while his use of online tools and structured notes helps them stay on top of topics and feel more in control of their learning.
