What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love sharing knowledge and helping people find joy in understanding. It brings me joy to see other people enjoy learning.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am patient and adapt well to a students learning pace. I am thorough and will put in the extra work to ensure a student is fully across their content whether that's extra resources or time needed.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think being kind and ensuring that the student is enjoying learning at all times is the most important thing. If the students head is not in it it's important for a tutor to go at their pace.

About Jaiya

Experienced Youth Coach with Strong Maths Background

Jaiya is a university student with a solid academic grounding in high-level Mathematics and English, having studied advanced maths subjects alongside Chemistry and French in senior school. She already tutors Year 7 and 8 students in mathematics, helping them build confidence with tricky concepts and homework. Used to explaining complex ideas clearly to younger students, she brings patience and structure to each session, ensuring students understand not just how to get the answer, but why it works.

Proven Coaching Skills with Kids and Teens

This tutor has extensive experience working with children and teenagers through her roles as a rock climbing coach and windsurfing coach for ages 7–17. She is used to managing groups, giving clear instructions, and keeping students engaged and safe. Jaiya regularly breaks skills into manageable steps, encourages nervous learners, and celebrates progress, which translates directly into her tutoring style for both primary and high school students.

Energetic Role Model with Real-World Achievement

Outside the classroom, Jaiya is a high-achieving athlete who has competed internationally in windsurfing and earned major youth titles. This gives her a unique way to connect with active or sport-loving students and to model discipline, goal-setting and resilience. She is fit, energetic and an effective communicator, using examples from sport and everyday life to make maths and English more relatable and enjoyable for young learners.
