What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I love seeing people genuinely understand something after struggling for so hard. As someone who wasnβt naturally extraordinary at maths, from my own experience I know what itβs like struggling so hard to understand a concept or question and the satisfaction and relief that your rewarded with when you finally get it. Frankly, itβs that reward that made me so interested in maths in the first place and drove me in the top ranks. Knowing I can help someone reach that satisfaction and interest is what I enjoyed most about tutoring when I took an academic mentor position in my senior years in HS.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I feel like my key strength is my determination on not giving up on people when they need help. I attended many tuitions as a kid and I was usually the one where I felt some teachers gave up on in earlier years of my schooling. Knowing that has created a genuine passion where I see struggling kids as a challenge, not a burden or lost cause. That mentality I feel is one of my greatest strengths as a tutor because I think I can make kids believe in themselves, the first step in achieving anything great.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I think the most important thing is to always go all-out with the kids as in offering them maximum support, advice, materials and thorough explanations. The best teachers in my experience of being a student myself are the ones who go above and beyond for students to give them a strong foundation and encouragement for academic success. It worked on me and I intend on using those same tactics to any students I teach.

About Ishika
High-achieving maths student who understands the school system
Ishika is a high-performing senior student who consistently ranks near the top of her year in advanced and extension mathematics, physics and sociology. She has competed at state level in Maths Olympiads, placing in the top 0.5%, so she understands both classroom content and enrichment-style problem solving. This tutor knows current school expectations first-hand and can clearly explain difficult concepts in a way that makes sense to younger students, from primary through to senior high school.
Mentoring and leadership experience with younger students
Ishika has formal leadership experience as both an academic mentor and classroom leader, supporting younger students socially and academically. In these roles she helps classmates with maths questions, organises group activities and models effective study habits. Her background in debating and public speaking means she communicates clearly and confidently, while still being approachable. Parents can expect a tutor who is patient, organised and able to guide students step by step, not just give them the answers.
Clear communicator with a structured, relatable approach
With strong skills in presenting, debating and teamwork, Ishika explains ideas logically and checks that students truly understand, rather than memorising. She draws on her own experience balancing extension maths, physics and other subjects to share practical strategies for managing homework, exams and stress. Being bilingual, she is sensitive to different cultural and language backgrounds and can adjust her explanations accordingly. This tutor aims to build confidence by breaking problems into simple parts and celebrating each small improvement.
