What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy seeing the moment when a concept finally “clicks†for a student. It’s really rewarding to take something that feels confusing or intimidating and break it down until it feels simple and manageable. I also like getting to know how different students think and adapting my explanations to suit their style. As a current uni student myself, I remember clearly what it feels like to struggle with content, so helping someone move from stressed to confident is the best part of tutoring for me.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My main strengths are patience, clear communication, and being able to explain the same idea in different ways. Because of my IB background and my current engineering studies, I’m used to working with challenging content and breaking it into logical steps. I’m good at spotting where a student’s understanding first breaks down and then filling in those gaps slowly and calmly. I also try to be encouraging and approachable, so students feel comfortable asking questions and admitting when they’re stuck.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important things a tutor can do are: build the student’s confidence, give them a clear structure for how to approach problems, and create a safe space where they can make mistakes and learn from them. A good tutor doesn’t just give answers; they teach students how to think through questions on their own and develop good study habits. It’s also important to listen carefully, adapt to the student’s pace, and regularly check that they truly understand, rather than just memorising steps.

About Kareem

Strong Maths and Science Foundation for School Success

Kareem is studying Biomolecular and Chemical Engineering, giving him a solid grounding in advanced maths, chemistry and problem-solving that he brings back to school-level content. He has completed an academically demanding programme with higher-level subjects in chemistry and physics, so he understands what it takes to move from “just getting by” to genuine mastery. This tutor is well placed to help students build clear conceptual understanding in maths and science, not just memorise formulas.

Clear Communicator Who Makes Concepts Manageable

Through leading multiple group presentations and research projects, Kareem has learnt how to break complex ideas into simple, logical steps—exactly what students need when topics start to feel overwhelming. He uses real-world examples from engineering and everyday life to make abstract maths and science ideas more relatable. With experience working in fast-paced, people-focused roles, he communicates calmly and clearly, helping students feel comfortable asking questions and trying again.

Patient, Culturally Aware Support for Diverse Learners

Kareem’s background as a bilingual Arabic and English speaker means he understands the challenges students face when learning in a second language or adjusting to new curricula. His community service experience shows in the way he encourages students to take ownership of their learning, from planning study schedules to preparing for exams. This tutor focuses on building confidence step by step, celebrating small wins while steadily lifting a student’s accuracy, reasoning and independence.
