What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy how tutoring involves the process of breaking down concepts into understandable forms. Being able to have that "eureka" moment with a student where they've been able to gain understanding I feel is extremely fulfilling.My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I think that I'm able to patiently explain concepts to students, and to adapt these explanations to the students' needs. I also think that I'm able to be articulate with my speech so students can comprehend what I'm saying easily.Most important things I can do for a student π
I think that the most important thing a tutor can do is to not only develop the student's understanding of the content, but also to develop their self-efficacy and facilitate their own ability to analyze and break down tough concepts independently, as I think this is a skill that will continue to serve them far into the future.Subjects Tutored π

About Joseph

Joseph is studying Occupational Therapy, giving him a deep understanding of how children think, learn and cope with challenges. Through his work supporting people with mental, physical and emotional difficulties, he has learnt to read behaviour, build trust and adapt his approach to suit each individual. This tutor brings that same calm, patient attitude to tutoring, especially for students who may be anxious, easily distracted or have additional learning needs, helping them feel safe and confident while they learn.
Experience Supporting Children with Additional Needs
As an additional needs caretaker, Joseph has closely supported children with special needs, working alongside families to understand each childβs specific challenges. He has helped modify activities to be more accessible, managed emotional outbursts, and developed personalised strategies with other team members. This experience means he can break tasks into manageable steps, adjust explanations on the spot, and use gentle structure and encouragement so primary and high school students stay engaged and feel successful in Maths and English.

Joseph brings strong organisation, time management and communication skills, backed by experience writing clear reports and documenting progress. He is fluent in English, competent in Mandarin, and comfortable using online platforms like Zoom and Teams, making him well suited to both in-person and online lessons. Outside study, he enjoys reading, drawing, music, chess and sport, which he uses to build rapport and real-life examples, helping students see how classroom concepts connect to their own interests.
