What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love helping students unlock their full academic potential, and grow mentally as they learn new methods to conquer concepts they find complicated.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I'm very friendly and approachable to children, so I believe my strength lies in being able to connect with my student. Without a connection, they may feel afraid to speak out and thus, unable to fully learn the content.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor should ensure the student has grasped a conceptual understanding of a topic, not a superficial one. It's highly important that they encourage students to continue asking questions for clarification on grey areas, instead of leaving it ambiguous.

Georgie answered questions very well and asked for help on a couple. She did well in most questions, and was much more responsive than I thought!

She seemed a bit lost with the measurement content, but didn't ask any questions as she might've been a bit too shy. She was also a bit distracted, but I think overtime her focus will strengthen and hopefully she won't shy away from asking questions when confused. We will do some further revision next lesson just to clear any other gaps and refresh her memory, ready to learn year 7 content in the lesson after.

Harriette was responding, asking questions, and doing some examples, which was great to see! With some light revision, we worked together on both simple and slightly challenging questions to expand her understanding.
Some more revision would help freshen up some content learnt in year 8, so that we can proceed to learning year 9 topics and staying on top of the math workload in school.
