What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Tutoring is the best way for two people to learn. Through tutoring, the tutor learns how to teach more effectively and becomes more proficient on the subject, whereas the student listens and learns the tips and tricks the tutor provides. It's a structured where both people are benefited.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I've recently graduated from highschool, and I have experience teaching a Grade 3 classroom from a English to Maths to Humanities. I've gained early experience, and used to help others in my classes, which boosted our relationships and academics.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

Not to critic harshly. I believe you should praise on a student's try and highlight what portion of their "solution" was done right, but then with a gentle tone, explain what portion they did wrong. If you lower a student's motivation, they're less likely to be ambitious to learn and try. Furthermore, a tutor should insist on their student(s) to participate. My previous Math tutor insisted on the class to always participate in the class. From participating, students gain more confidence, and can learn from others.

About Febin

Early Hands-On Classroom Experience

Febin is a Year 12 graduate who has already spent time in the classroom as a student teacher, working with a Year 3 class. During this placement, he helped teach core primary subjects, ran simple quizzes, and checked students’ understanding by getting them to recall what they had learnt from him. This tutor is comfortable managing small groups, following a lesson plan, and supporting the main teacher, giving him a strong foundation for one-to-one and small-group tutoring in primary Maths and English.

Strong Problem-Solving and Clear Communication

With a background that includes a junior coding certificate, Febin brings logical thinking and step-by-step problem-solving to his tutoring. He explains concepts clearly, using simple language and checking in regularly to make sure students are following along. He is confident with technology and Microsoft Office, which means he can prepare neat worksheets, digital quizzes and revision activities that keep lessons structured, engaging and easy for students to revisit at home.

Tech-Savvy, Relatable and Flexible Tutor

Febin is close in age to many high school students, which helps him relate to their day-to-day pressures and study habits. His interest in technological developments often comes through in lessons, where he uses real-life tech examples to make Maths and English feel more relevant. He is an independent worker who takes initiative, and his wide availability across all seven days makes it easier for families to find regular times that fit around school, sport and other activities.
