What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy helping students understand topics better and feel more comfortable in their abilities, as well as the satisfaction it gives me in knowing that I am able to help somebody achieve their goals in academics, just like somebody did for me in my high school years.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

My strengths include providing a different perspective in approaching problems when learning as I have personally been in a situation where I did not understand something and needed another person to provide an opinion and new perspective on a question.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

Important things to do as a tutor include preparing material before sessions to accomodate to the student's needs. Another is having flexibility in to cater to the student's schedule and providing further advice to do with studying tips as well. Having a personalised academic approach to students can form a trusting relationship to make learning faster and easier as well.

About vanessa

Hi! My name is Vanessa and I'm currently studying a double degree of commerce and psychology at UNSW

I have graduated from the NSW HSC system myself, so I know the pressure that you may feel to perform well academically. I am here to help you and guide you through your primary or secondary schooling journey, to improve your confidence in your abilities and hopefully achieve great results! I am very happy and excited to be your tutor and mentor to help you grow and achieve your goals! :)

Patient Communicator Who Connects with Young Learners

Through previous roles and home tutoring, Vanessa has developed excellent communication and organisational skills, which she brings into every lesson. She takes time to understand how each student learns best, then adjusts her explanations and examples to match. This tutor likes to use real-life scenarios and practical questions to make Maths feel less abstract and more engaging. Parents can expect clear feedback on progress and areas to focus on, without overwhelming the student.

Responsible Role Model with Leadership and Creativity

Vanessa’s involvement in a structured youth leadership and service program, where she completed extended volunteering and a multi-day expedition, shows her reliability, independence, and commitment to helping others. She has also developed leadership skills that help her guide students gently but firmly towards better study habits. With interests such as violin and creative activities, this tutor can relate well to students with different personalities, encouraging them to stay motivated and to take pride in their learning.
