What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

So often I see students who have all the skills to succeed, but lack the confidence, or sophistication to work to the best of their ability. Often this makes them doubt themselves, and many have difficulty seeking help in the conventional classroom. I love being able to guide them in putting those pieces together and restoring their belief in themselves. It's a beautiful thing!

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I can communicate information effectively with children and have a knack for understanding what students mean or are struggling with even when they find it difficult to put into words.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

Give them confident, ignite in students a passion for learning, relay infomation in a personalised, contextually appropriate way.

About Lyla

Energetic Young Tutor Who Relates to Students

Lyla is a current senior high school student who understands exactly what primary and high school learners are facing in Maths and English today. She brings a friendly, downtoearth style that helps students feel comfortable asking questions and having another go when things are tricky. As someone who is actively studying at a high level herself, she is familiar with current curriculum expectations and can explain concepts in clear, modern language that makes sense to younger students.

Hands-On Coaching Experience with Young Children

Through her role coordinating a β€œTiny Tots” athletics group, Lyla regularly plans and runs activities for young children, giving her strong experience in managing attention, breaking instructions into simple steps and keeping kids engaged. She is used to adapting tasks for different abilities and encouraging nervous or shy children to have a try. This practical coaching background directly shapes her tutoring style: short, focused tasks, lots of encouragement, and clear routines that help students build skills steadily.

Patient, Organised and Family-Focused Approach

Lyla works closely with families in her coaching role, communicating clearly with parents about progress and behaviour, and she brings the same openness to tutoring. She prepares in advance, arrives organised, and uses simple goalsetting so students can see their own improvement over time. Whether helping a primary student master reading basics or supporting a high schooler with assignment planning, this tutor combines patience, structure and genuine care to create a positive learning experience.
