What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I quite enjoy the learning and growing aspect of tutoring, teaching someone somthing and seeing them grow in it is fulfilling and gives me a sense of purpose

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I have been both a tutor and tutee so I have been on both sides of the spectrum. So I feel like I can understand where the student is coming from and areas of general difficulty and what questions mean and the most efficient way of answer ing them

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe that at the end of the day the best thing that a tutor can do for a student is to help his student understand that everything comes with hard work, nothing comes with outwork and that with the correct amount of time and commitment nothing is impossible. Also of course helping the students reach thier goals and where they want to see themselves in the near future.

About Leon

High-achieving maths & digital technology mentor

Leon is a high-performing student of advanced computing with a strong background in maths, physics and digital technology. At school, he earned top-level academic endorsements and a national scholarship in Digital Technology, showing he not only understands complex ideas but can apply them creatively. He has peer-tutored senior students in maths, digital technology and physics, helping classmates break down tricky concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations. This tutor knows how to turn challenging content into something understandable and engaging for both primary and high school learners.

Experienced peer tutor with real project know-how

Through extensive peer tutoring, Leon has developed a calm, structured approach that builds students’ confidence, especially when they feel “stuck” or overwhelmed. He draws on his own projects – such as designing a system to optimise rubbish collection and building an autonomous maze-solving robot – to give real-world examples that make abstract maths and computing ideas click. Parents can expect lessons that are practical, clearly explained, and tailored to each student’s pace and goals, whether they are catching up or aiming for top marks.

Leadership, coaching and a focus on character

Beyond academics, Leon has significant leadership and coaching experience, including serving as a student leader, mentoring younger students and volunteering as a football coach and referee. These roles have sharpened his ability to motivate, communicate clearly and manage different personalities. He uses these skills in tutoring sessions to encourage resilience, focus and a growth mindset. With experience in structured leadership programmes and over 150 hours of community service, this tutor brings maturity, responsibility and genuine care for each student’s progress.
