What do I enjoy most about tutoring? š
What i enjoy most about tutoring is being able to help build understanding over time and to then eventually see the student reach understanding. Helping to develop the confidence to work through problems on their own without the need for help, being able to come to logical conclusions on their own.
My Strengths as Tutor šŖ
I believe my primary strengths as a tutor is the ability to clearly explain concepts and present multiple methods for approaching mathematical problems. In my experience, the methods used in classrooms can be difficult at first to grasp. understanding often coming in the form of seeing alternate approaches. By laying out different solutions and observing how a student responds, I can then adapt my teaching and guide their learning more effectively.
Most important things I can do for a student š
Tailoring learning specifically for each student. In a classroom, a teacher isn't able to specify learning for each student, rather needing to address the class as a whole. As a tutor however you are able to personally work through problems with students, building understanding of the fundamental concepts as you go.

About William
Student at the University of Western Australia
Iām currently studying a bachelor of engineering, majoring in electrical and electronic engineering at the University of Western Australia, where Iām developing a strong foundation in circuit analysis, physics and mathematics. My studies focus on understanding how electrical systems work and how they can be designed to solve real-world problems. Iām particularly interested in applying engineering principles to practical and innovative technologies.
Classroom Experience as an Assistant Teacher
William has hands-on classroom experience as an assistant teacher in advanced maths classes, where he supported students one-on-one and in small groups. He regularly explained challenging concepts in different ways until they clicked, and helped deliver classwork alongside the main teacher. This tutor is used to working with a wide range of abilities, adapting his explanations and pacing so each student feels supported rather than overwhelmed.
Calm, Reliable and Goal-Focused Tutoring Style
William brings a calm, organised approach that helps anxious learners feel at ease, especially around tests and homework. He draws on his engineering background to show how maths connects to real-world problem-solving, which can be especially motivating for teenagers. Known for being reliable and hardworking, he prepares thoroughly for sessions and pays close attention to detail, helping students set clear goals, track their progress, and build long-term study habits.
