What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Being able to connect with new people and learn about them. Additionally, being able to see a person's understanding of concepts change with a little nudge in the right direction. Where they are able to discover and learn independently. Overall, it would be the change in a persons ability and confidence as they begin to understand what they are learning.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am understanding and compassionate and know that everyone learns at a different pace and there is no one metric to measure each child's understanding. I am able to break down key concepts into a more simple and straightforward way, which allows for difficult concepts to be understood without the need for a student to feel overwhelmed or incapable. Also I like to relate problems to real life scenarios so that it can stick with the student more than just going over there head and them forgetting.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
To help build a students confidence to tackle problems themselves. While I am helping them, I always remind them that when they are sitting the test they will be alone. Therefore when i teach i encourage the student to take the initiative in answering questions and tackling questions from different perspectives before i step in with a friendly nudge to allow them to go on the right path. This ensures that if they ever encounter a question which they have never seen they can approach it from different angles and have the confidence to attempt the question without just skipping.

About Gaurav
Experienced School-Based Maths and English Tutor
Gaurav has hands-on tutoring experience, having been employed by his former school to support junior students in Maths and English. He regularly helped younger students understand new concepts, revise class content, and prepare for assessments. This tutor focused on breaking work into manageable steps and checking for understanding along the way. By working closely with a range of learners, he has developed a calm, approachable style that helps students feel comfortable asking questions and trying again when something is difficult.
Strong Communication and Student Wellbeing Focus
As a school tutor, Gaurav was trusted not only to teach content but also to act as a role model. He took time to understand the circumstances affecting each student’s learning, then adjusted his explanations and pace accordingly. He is an attentive listener who encourages students to talk through where they are getting stuck. This tutor’s ability to balance academic support with genuine care for student wellbeing helps build confidence, especially for children who may be anxious or unsure about schoolwork.
Organised, Reliable and Easy to Work With
Gaurav brings strong organisational skills to his tutoring. He has previously managed rosters for a small tutoring team, coordinating timetables for more than five people, which shows he can plan sessions efficiently and respect family schedules. He is comfortable working under pressure, keeps a positive attitude, and is always willing to try new approaches if a student isn’t “getting it” the first time. Parents can expect a tutor who is punctual, prepared, and genuinely committed to helping their child improve.
