Jemima is a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) student, bringing a solid grounding in maths, problem-solving and logical thinking to her tutoring. Her studies require her to break down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps, a skill she applies when helping school students with challenging topics. Having recently completed her senior school studies with strong results, she understands current curriculum expectations and common sticking points, and can bridge the gap between classroom teaching and genuine understanding.
Jemima has hands-on experience supervising and supporting groups of up to 30 primary students on a regular basis, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and engagement in learning activities. As a youth councillor and working group chair, she has led initiatives for young people, giving her insight into how students think and what motivates them. She is comfortable managing groups, giving clear instructions and building rapport, which translates into calm, structured and encouraging one-to-one tutoring sessions.
Through her experience as a crew coach, Jemima has trained and mentored new team members, developing a knack for explaining tasks step-by-step and adjusting her approach for different learning styles. She uses this same approach in tutoring, checking for understanding and using real-world examples to make maths and related skills feel relevant. Confident with online tools like Teams and Zoom, she can offer flexible, engaging lessons both in person and online, helping students build confidence as well as competence.

Mahmoud tends to rush questions, leading to misunderstanding in key concepts and wrong answers in class work. He could work on increasing and understanding the base knowledge with Physics as that will help him in the future, with applying first-principles to the more complex questions.

Mahmoud was able to engage well with the content, asked clear questions about the sections causing confusion, and was able to understand and apply knowledge once explained.
There could be improvement in the answering technique, where Mahmoud tends to just write down his first thoughts, and not properly read through and understand each question before starting to answer. Slowing down before reading a question will allow him to understand exactly how much detail and content he needs to include in his answer. He could seek to grow his confidence in science/physics based knowledge, where he can memorise information well, but is unable to apply it when framed in a different light.

Mahmoud is confident in the content for Biology and can answer most questions without hesitance. His current ideas for his personal project are thought out and something he connects with well.
There could be improvement in the way questions are answered, especially in STEM courses like Biology, where a specific answer is often sought, Mahmoud would benefit from expanding on his answers to achieve all marks in a question. With the personal project, Mahmoud should seek to expand his project to include more media, especially something interactive, as that will again secure those extra marks that are currently being forgotten.

Joseph was able to use previous factorization techniques well to provide a base to work from when approaching the new process. He was able to explain through the process of expanding the equation, as well as breaking the coefficients down appropriately.
Could improve on identifying which technique to use at each stage of the equation when not explicitly stated in the question. When working with worded questions, there was hesitancy around how to approach the question and break down the information to find the needed data.
