What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

That unique sense of accomplishment when the students that you’ve taught achieve their respective goals.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Patience. I understand that each student is a person in their own right and deserves different approaches when teaching. Some students may be slower to grasp the content and that’s ok. In fact, I encourage it. It is important to truly understand rather than pretend.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Be understanding. It’s hard to admit that you need help sometimes, especially for those that may struggle with easier topics. But it’s important to help establish a strong foundation so you must appear welcoming.

About Kerri

Supportive tutor with real classroom experience

Kerri is a friendly, reliable tutor who already has hands-on experience helping children learn in real classrooms. As a teacher’s assistant at a coding camp, she supports students one-on-one when they are stuck on tricky concepts and keeps them focused through long sessions. This tutor is used to explaining ideas in different ways until they “click”, and her calm, patient manner helps even shy or easily distracted students feel comfortable asking questions.

Strong communication and tech-savvy learning

With experience on a primary school media team, Kerri has helped teachers solve technical issues and present digital content to classes. She brings this confidence with technology into her tutoring, using slides, online tools, and visual explanations to make maths and English clearer and more engaging. Being fluent in English, Mandarin and Japanese, she is especially good at breaking down language and grammar for students who may be bilingual or learning English as an additional language.

Patient role model who understands school life

As a current secondary student herself, Kerri understands today’s curriculum, assessment styles, and the pressures of school life. She uses this insight to help students with study routines, time management and staying motivated across the term. Parents can expect a tutor who is punctual, responsible and easy to communicate with, and students get a relatable role model who can share practical tips for managing homework, tests and classroom expectations.
