What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy when I see my students understand what they used to struggle with after my help.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strengths as a tutor are communication skills, patience, and ability to view the problems in the students’ perspective. These strengths let me wait for the tutees to fully understand the contents and help with their weak areas more effectively.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I was also a tutee before, and from my experience, I believe the most important things a tutor can do for students are the ability to wait and be patient for the students, and being able to teach the contents properly. Personally, I think the most important thing that a tutor should offer a student is a tutorial where it isn’t pressuring. If a student feels pressured in a tutorial, it limits their opportunities to ask further questions and demotivate them from learning more.

About Taehyun

Friendly high-achieving maths mentor for school students

Taehyun is a high school student in an advanced science and maths program, so he understands exactly what today’s curriculum looks like and what teachers expect. He has already tutored a peer in maths over an extended period, helping them maintain strong results and feel more confident with tricky questions. Because he is close in age to his students, he explains concepts in clear, relatable language and shows practical ways to tackle common problem types in class and exams.

Practical one-on-one tutoring experience

This tutor has hands-on experience providing regular one-on-one maths support, not just helping with homework but breaking down questions step by step so they “click”. He focuses on showing different methods for the same problem, so students can choose the approach that makes most sense to them. Taehyun also spends time teaching how to read questions carefully, avoid common mistakes, and check working, which is especially helpful for tests and assessment tasks.

Clear communicator who builds confidence

Taehyun combines strong communication skills with genuine patience, creating a space where students feel comfortable asking questions they might be too shy to ask in class. He uses simple examples first, then gradually increases difficulty to build both skill and confidence. This tutor likes to turn difficult topics into small, manageable steps and encourages students to explain their thinking back to him, helping them develop deeper understanding and long-term problem-solving habits.
