What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy the connections I have with my students, and seeing them make progress from week to week. For me, the best part of teaching is not comparing student's end results, but rather the process of overcoming learning difficulties. Not only is it extremely rewarding for the student, and satisfying for the tutor.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strengths are my patience, adaptability, and communication skills. I understand that every student has different learning styles and speeds, and from experience, I know that as a tutor, I need to adjust my explanations and tone based on the students needs. I am also strong at breaking down complex concepts into simple ideas, which helps the student build confidence in their foundations.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe that teaching students a syllabus and helping them achieve their grades is only part of a tutor's job. The most important aspect of a tutor is the ability to pass down a study discipline to their students. Good grades can help a student for a year, but good discipline will help a student their entire life. When I am teaching, not only will I help them with the syllabus, I will also pass on study tips that will guide them towards independence and long-term academic success.

About Max

Strong Maths Background with Real Classroom Mentoring

Max is a first-year electrical engineering student with a strong maths foundation, having completed advanced Mathematics and Physics in the International Baccalaureate with top results. At school he worked as a peer mentor, providing both one-on-one and whole-class academic support, especially in maths and science. This tutor is used to explaining tricky concepts in simple steps, helping younger students bridge gaps in understanding while also building their confidence to tackle harder problems independently.

Experienced Peer Mentor Who Connects with Students

Through several years of peer mentoring, Max has guided younger students through homework, exam preparation and school transitions, including supporting them on camp and in everyday school routines. He is used to listening carefully, spotting where a student is getting stuck, and adjusting his explanations on the spot. This tutor’s experience communicating with teachers and students of different ages means he can comfortably work with both primary and high school learners, keeping sessions friendly but focused.

Leadership, Discipline and a Creative Approach to Learning

Beyond the classroom, Max has led sections in school bands and coached junior percussion groups, giving him hands-on experience breaking complex skills into manageable steps. His music background helps him bring creativity and rhythm into lessons, such as using patterns and analogies to explain maths ideas. Long-term involvement in band and environmental service projects shows strong commitment, time management and reliability—qualities that flow directly into structured, well-prepared tutoring sessions for your child.
