What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

My favourite moments in tutoring are helping students overcome challenges in their learning, as there is a shared sense of accomplishment between both the student and I.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I have extensive experience with academic testing throughout my schooling in Victoria, including scholarship, SEAL, and selective entry testing, all of which I received offers from. Graduating with an ATAR of 96.9, my long-term academic commitment has given me a strong understanding of both the content and the pressures students face.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe one of the most important qualities of tutoring is offering flexibility and personlisation of lessons to students that can only be offered in a 1-on-1 environment that students can't experience in classrooms. Strong communication skills allow a tutor to recognise and adapt to each student’s strengths and weaknesses, making learning more personalised and effective.

About Jasmine

Experienced primary Maths and English tutor

Jasmine is an assistant teacher who has worked closely with primary students in Years 1–4, teaching both Maths and English in a structured learning program. She tailors worksheets and explanations to each child, marks homework and tests, and tracks progress so parents can clearly see improvements over time. This tutor is used to giving specific, constructive feedback and helping younger learners build strong foundations, especially in number skills, reading, spelling, and basic writing.

High-achieving student with strong Maths and language skills

As a current high-performing secondary student, Jasmine brings fresh, up-to-date subject knowledge and a strong academic record, including academic scholarships and recognition in national maths competitions, where she placed in the top 10%. She is fluent in English and Chinese, with bilingual proficiency in Japanese, which helps her explain tricky concepts in simple, clear language. This tutor understands what it takes to succeed in school assessments and can share practical study and exam strategies with her students.

Creative, organised and engaging mentor

Beyond the classroom, Jasmine has led music ensembles and contributed to student committees, experiences that have strengthened her leadership, organisation, and communication skills. She is used to guiding groups, planning rehearsals, and keeping younger students focused and encouraged. In tutoring, she draws on her musical background to make learning more engaging—for example, using rhythm and patterns to help with times tables or phonics—and builds a calm, friendly environment where students feel confident to ask questions and try new challenges.
