What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is when my students are able to gain insights through various perspectives under my guidance, where they can further be able to implement these skills for real life issues. These skills can be enhanced in english especially through exercises like argument and text analysis, while creative writting further allows students to think out side the box and look for the bigger picture.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I am easy-going and patient and I have an enormous amount of experience helping students in different age-groups. Despite most of the time being through sports coaching, during my time at college, I helped younger year levels with problems, including subject selections and helping them with academic questions.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

The most important things a tutor can do for their student, is not just simply improving their academic skills, increasing their grades, but to help them fully understand the process of education, while encourage students to develop personal skills that can help them further even when they step into the society later on.

About Weichen

Engaging Mentor with Strong Academic Background

Weichen is a commerce student with a solid grounding in Maths and English, built through a rigorous high school program and ongoing university studies in accounting and marketing. He understands what it takes to succeed in assessments, from clear written expression to confident problem-solving. This tutor focuses on breaking concepts into simple, memorable steps and linking schoolwork to real-life examples, helping students see the point of what they’re learning rather than just memorising for tests.

Experienced Youth Coach and Student Leader

As a fencing coach for students in Years 7–12, Weichen regularly explains complex techniques in a way younger learners can grasp, then builds them up step by step. He has led training groups, officiated competitions, and managed house events for more than 70 students, so he is very comfortable guiding and motivating school-aged children. These experiences shape his tutoring: sessions are structured, goal-focused, and encouraging, with plenty of check-ins to make sure students genuinely understand.

Multilingual Communicator with Creative Teaching Style

Fluent in English and Chinese, and with additional French and Korean, Weichen is skilled at adjusting his language to suit different learners, including bilingual students. His background in marketing and theatre clubs means he brings creativity into lessons, using visuals, stories, and real-world scenarios to make Maths and English more engaging. As a competitive snare drummer, he also understands discipline and practice routines, helping students build steady study habits and confidence over time.
