What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy being able to help those around me, making the burdens of study more bearable and even enjoyable. The best part is assisting someone through their academic journey. I thrive in situations where I am able to offer mentorship, guidance and connection.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As a tutor, I can manage my time and prioritise the students who require my assistance. I believe my strengths are emotional intelligence and experience within helping others achieve academic competence and then success. I can reach an understanding and communicate with my clients; I'm a trustworthy individual and have experience being an emotional support person for those with mental struggles. I am able to clarify a subject using the tools available to me along with drawing on past experiences, building confidence and offering support are my specialities.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Though grades and academic achievement are certainly important and achievable through tutoring (I am proof of that as my grades grew from year to year), the most important thing I could do for my students is give them a safe and productive learning environment. Children can build their confidence in subjects and in general through me. I work to reach a point of understanding and mutual respect with those I interact with whether they be child or adult.

About Catherine

Who am I?

I am a current student of both a bachelor of science (psychology) and commerce (marketing) within Curtin University. Outside of studying, I am an eldest child with one sibling and many cousins who I see often and a member of several interest clubs. I have a high screentime of over 8 hours a day due to a penchant for research and a curious approach towards the unknown.

My Past

I was born in 2008, and I am a graduate from Rossmoyne SHS (class of 2025) and have a rural upbringing within WA's Pilbara region (2012-2022). Having been in both the public and private school systems along with honing my own skills within teaching people around me, I am someone who understands learning and what it could look like in both neurodivergent and neurotypical students.
