What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing the moment when something finally clicks for a student. I love breaking down complex concepts into simple, relatable steps and watching their confidence grow. Its especially rewarding when a student goes from saying I can't do this to solving problems independently. I also enjoy building a supportive learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions without fear of any judgment
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
My strengths are patience, clear communication, and adaptability. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching style based on their needs. Im good at explaining concepts in multiple ways until it makes sense. Im also organised and structured, which helps students stay on track while still feeling supported rather than pressured
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is build a students confidence and independent critical thinking skills. Its not just about helping them get the right answers, but teaching them how to approach problems on their own. A good tutor should create a positive environment, providing clear guidance, and gradually help the student to rely less on help and more on their own abilities

About Erin
Strong maths foundation from engineering and aerospace studies
Erin is a mechanical engineering student with a prior diploma in aerospace electronics, giving her a strong grounding in maths, problem-solving and analytical thinking. She works confidently with algebra, applied mathematics and logical reasoning, and is used to breaking down complex technical ideas into simpler steps. This tutor is well placed to help primary and high school students who need clear explanations, especially those interested in STEM or who want to see how classroom maths connects to real-world applications.
Hands-on experience supporting students in a learning centre
Erin has worked as an assistant in a learning centre using a structured maths and English programme, helping school students work through worksheets, check their understanding and build good study habits. She is used to guiding students one-on-one, encouraging them to attempt problems independently before stepping in with targeted hints. This experience means she can manage different ability levels, keep learners on track, and give parents clear feedback on progress and areas to focus on.
Multilingual communicator who connects with diverse learners
Fluent in English and several other languages, Erin is skilled at adjusting her communication style for different ages and backgrounds. Her experience in public speaking and customer-facing roles has made her calm, patient and clear when explaining new concepts. She likes to use real-life examples from engineering and everyday situations to make abstract ideas in maths and English more relatable. This tutor aims to build studentsβ confidence by celebrating small wins while steadily raising the level of challenge.
