What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Ive never actually tutored, but I was always that person in class to ask for help and I was always willing to help. My teacher told me that teaching was the best way to learn yourself and I believe that so I always tried to deepen my understanding and help out my friends.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I believe that my strengths as a tutor come from my early engineering degree. This degree has began to solidify my knowledge and really made me understand high school content. I've always had a passion for mathematics and physics and believe that I could really inspire and push more students to have one too.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I believe that motivating the student and pushing them to do better is very important in tutoring. I also believe that the answer shouldn't be given without effort from the student and the working out is extremely important for understanding the subject.

About Sam

High-achieving maths and science student who β€œgets it”

Sam is a high-achieving recent school graduate who consistently earned academic awards and finished with one of the top ATARs in his cohort. Now studying Electrical Engineering with a focus on renewable energy, he works with advanced maths and problem-solving every day. This means he can explain tricky concepts in clear, simple steps that make sense to school students, especially in maths and science. Sam remembers exactly what it feels like to be in primary and high school, and tailors explanations to that level.

Calm, organised mentor with real leadership experience

As a resident mentor in student accommodation, Sam supports younger students with study routines, time management and settling into academic life. He regularly helps others plan their workload, break down big tasks and stay motivated, skills that transfer directly into tutoring sessions. Parents can expect a tutor who is calm, reliable and structured, guiding students not only through content but also through better study habits and exam preparation.

Relatable tutor who builds confidence step by step

Sam combines his strong academic background with a friendly, down-to-earth style. He likes to use real-life examples from technology and everyday situations to make maths and science feel less abstract and more interesting. In sessions, he focuses on working through past homework and test questions, then creating similar practice problems so students can see their own progress. This tutor aims to turn β€œI don’t get it” moments into small wins that steadily build confidence.
