What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing students gradually gain confidence and understanding. It is very rewarding to watch a concept that once felt difficult suddenly “click†for them. I also find it motivating when students become excited about learning and look forward to our sessions. Seeing their progress over time, especially when their marks improve, makes me feel proud because it shows that the effort we both put in is making a real difference.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

One of my biggest strengths is patience. Every student learns at a different pace, so I take the time to explain concepts in different ways until it makes sense for them. I also focus on creating a comfortable and supportive learning environment so students feel confident asking questions without feeling pressured. My communication style is clear and encouraging, which helps students stay motivated and engaged during lessons.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is build a student’s confidence while helping them understand difficult concepts. Being patient and explaining things clearly allows students to feel comfortable asking questions and improving. From my own experience, my math tutor was very encouraging and always supported me when I struggled. Her encouragement helped me gain confidence and even inspired me to pursue medicine. I think a great tutor can influence not only a student’s grades but also their motivation and future goals.

About Subin

Strong Academic Foundation in Maths and Science

Subin is a medical student with a rigorous background in mathematics, life science, chemistry and environmental science, giving her a deep understanding of the subjects many students struggle with. She draws on this training to explain abstract ideas clearly, whether it’s algebra, graphing, or tricky science concepts. This tutor is especially skilled at breaking down multi-step problems into manageable stages, so students not only get the right answer but also understand the reasoning behind it.

Experienced Private Tutor with Structured, Clear Lessons

Subin has several years of experience as a private tutor in maths and science, working with school-aged students on homework support, exam preparation and long-term skill building. She creates structured lesson plans and targeted practice exercises that match each student’s level and school curriculum. In sessions, she uses step-by-step explanations and worked examples, then gradually shifts responsibility to the student so they gain independence. Parents can expect regular check-ins on progress and practical strategies students can use between lessons.

Patient Communicator Who Builds Confidence

Beyond her academic strengths, Subin brings strong people skills developed through leading volunteer teams and supporting patients and families in healthcare settings. She knows how to put anxious learners at ease, listen carefully to their concerns, and adjust her approach when something isn’t clicking. This tutor focuses on small, achievable wins—like mastering a type of exam question or improving a test score range—to build confidence over time. Her calm, encouraging style helps students feel safe to ask questions and try challenging problems.
