What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing that moment when something finally clicks for a student. Being able to break down a concept in a way that makes sense to them, and then watching their confidence grow, is really rewarding. I also enjoy building a connection with students and understanding how they learn, because everyone is different. It's not just about improving grades, but helping them become confident and capable individuals, which is something that stays with them forever.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my key strengths as a tutor is my ability to connect with students and understand how they think. Coaching the U12 team at Burwood Cricket Club taught me how to engage younger players, stay patient, and adapt my approach based on their confidence and ability.
As a peer mentor at Monash College for Maths, Chemistry, and Accounting, I also developed the ability to break down complex concepts into simple, clear explanations. This helped me develop clear communication skills and the ability to explain concepts in different methods until one clicks for the student.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do is build a student's confidence. Once a student believes they can understand something, everything else becomes easier. That starts with creating a positive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes without pressure. Equally important is adapting to how each student learns. So, a good tutor listens, observes, and explains concepts in a way that actually makes sense to the student.
Finally, motivating the student would also be a really important part- being a tutor that the student can look upto and learn from!

About Siddharth
About me
I am a dedicated and approachable tutor currently studying Data Science and Finance at Monash University, with a strong foundation in mathematics and analytical problem solving. I enjoy helping students build confidence by breaking down complex concepts into simple, understandable steps. My focus is not just on getting the right answer, but on helping students develop the skills and thinking process needed to solve problems independently. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes, and steadily improving over time.

Josh was really interactive and communicated his areas of weaknesses, which made it easier for me to tailor the lesson to his needs. Moreover, he had prior experience and strong fundamentals with shapes and measurement, allowing for more detailed and complex discussions.
Josh needs minor improvements on understanding the content more deeply- consistent practice will definetely help. He also needs to understand how to pick the correct unit of measurement when calculating area/volume/perimeter- this will improve with more reading on the content covered.

The session was interactive and Thomas was very good in communicating areas he needed to work on, improving productivity. He possesed strong fundamentals on the topics covered last week and retained key concepts really well. He also demonstrated adequate knowledge on linear modelling and graphs while revising for his exams.
Thomas would benefit from being more prudent with his work to avoid losing petty marks in a test. He also mentioned that he needed to manage his time better, so that's something that we can work on. Moreover, more practice and review on past topics (Linear Modelling & Graphs, Statistics) would help him refresh his knowledge and put him in a better space for his exams.

Thomas is a really fast-learner who responds promptly to questions and tries his best to demonstrate his knowledge. He has strong fundamentals in mathematical concepts which makes it easy to introduce complex topics. Moreover, he asks meaningful questions which makes the session more interactive.
Needs practice with sequence recurrence relations. Also, needs to try his best to show all working/steps for sequence and financial problems. This way he avoids losing marks on minor issues.
