What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Honestly, the best part for me is that moment when something finally clicks for a student. Watching someone go from being completely lost on a topic to actually understanding it and feeling confident is really rewarding. I also just enjoy breaking down problems and explaining things in different ways until it makes sense for that particular person.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my biggest strength is being able to explain things clearly and in a way that's easy to follow. Studying a double degree in Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Science at Monash means I've had to get my head around a lot of difficult concepts, so I know what it feels like to struggle with something and work through it. Outside of uni, I also lead a team in my role as Chief Business Operations Officer at BrewLabs, which has helped me develop strong communication skills and the ability to work with different types of people. I'm also pretty patient and I don't make students feel bad
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing is making the student feel comfortable enough to actually say when they don't understand something, because a lot of students just nod along even when they're lost. Through leading a team at BrewLabs I've learned that people respond a lot better when they feel supported rather than judged, and I think that applies just as much in tutoring. Beyond that, it's about building their confidence so they can eventually work through problems on their own rather than just relying on the tutor for answers.
