What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love being able to show students how interconnected maths really is, linking topics like area and volume to integration, and then showing how those concepts show up in the real world across business and science. Beyond the content itself, I genuinely enjoy the mentorship side of tutoring, helping students develop a growth mindset that carries into all areas of their life. This aspect of tutoring ensures that students walk away with the ability to adapt to challenging problems even after tutoring as opposed to rote learning.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My biggest strengths are patience and communication. In high school, my own understanding came through hours of hard work and approaching concepts from multiple angles, and that experience shaped me into someone who can explain the same idea visually and verbally in different ways depending on the student. Studying a mathematics degree has also exposed me to how concepts like simultaneous equations evolve into matrices and business forecasting applications, which means I can stretch and challenge more advanced students too.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing is being patient and understanding with students who are struggling, trusting in their commitment to learning, and matching that with real effort on your end. Progress through tutoring is genuinely a team effort, and that mutual trust is what makes it work. Ultimately, a great tutor not only helps a student grasp the material but leaves them feeling more confident and capable in their own ability to learn.
