What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The moment a student finally gets something they've been stuck on and you can see it on their face. That shift from frustration to confidence is genuinely rewarding. I also enjoy the relationship side of tutoring which involves getting to know a student, understanding how they think, and finding the explanation that clicks for them specifically. No two students are the same and that keeps it interesting.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I'm good at diagnosing exactly where a student's understanding breaks down rather than just re-explaining the same thing louder. I'm patient, I adapt quickly, and I'm strong at making abstract concepts feel concrete and approachable. I also genuinely care about the students I work with, which means I put real thought into how to reach each individual and not just deliver content.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Building their confidence first. A student who believes they can improve will put in the effort. Beyond that, teach them how to think through problems independently so they don't need you forever. And really listen to where they're struggling because what a student says they don't understand and what they actually don't understand are often two different things.

About Ishaan
Introduction
Hi, I'm a Computer Science student at the University of Sydney with a genuine passion for mathematics and helping students succeed. I take the time to understand each student individually including how they learn, where their confidence sits, and what approach will work best for them. I believe great tutoring is about more than just covering content. It's about building the kind of understanding and self-belief that carries students well beyond the tutoring session. My background in Mathematics and CS has sharpened my analytical and problem-solving skills, and I bring that same structured, logical thinking into every session. Whether your child is struggling with the foundations or pushing for top marks, I'm committed to helping them reach their potential in a supportive, encouraging environment.
Hobbies
Outside of tutoring I stay pretty active. I play badminton regularly and hit the gym most weeks, which keeps me energised and focused. I also enjoy keeping up with mathematics and problem-solving in my own time, whether that's exploring interesting problems or staying across curriculum developments to make sure my teaching stays sharp and relevant. I find that having a balanced routine outside of work makes me a more present and engaged tutor when I'm with my students.
