What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy tutoring because I find it rewarding to help students build confidence and improve in areas they may initially struggle with. I especially enjoy seeing the moment when a concept finally clicks for a student after explaining it in a way that suits their learning style.
I also enjoy creating supportive and engaging learning environments where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Through my previous teaching experience, Iβve learned that tutoring is not only about academic improvement, but also about motivating students and helping them become more confident
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I believe one of my biggest strengths as a tutor is my ability to explain concepts in a simple and approachable way. I try to adapt my teaching style depending on the students' learning needs, because I understand that every student learns differently.
Another strength is communication and patience. I try my best to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, which helps build their confidence over time.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I think one of the most important things a tutor can do is help students build confidence in themselves and their ability to learn. Academic improvement is important, but students are much more likely to succeed when they feel supported, encouraged, and comfortable asking questions.
A tutor should also adapt their teaching approach to suit each studentβs learning style and needs, rather than using the same method for everyone. Patience, clear communication, and creating a positive learning environment are really important in helping students stay engaged and motivated.

About My
My name is Mia, and Iβm currently a pre-service secondary teacher at Edith Cowan University (ECU)
I have over 2 years of experience tutoring English to high school students and am currently accepting new students for tutoring. I have over two years of experience tutoring English to high school students and enjoy helping students build both their academic skills and confidence. Having recently completed my Bachelor of Business with Distinction at RMIT University, I also bring strong academic and analytical skills to my tutoring. I am particularly passionate about creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace.
I offer support with:
? English - Primary & Secondary
? Maths - Primary School
My approach to teaching is patience and personalisation
I believe every student learns differently, so I aim to make my lessons personalised, engaging and goal-focused rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether a student needs extra support with building foundational skills, completing schoolwork or gaining confidence in a subject, my goal is to help them become more capable and independent learners.
Why I Enjoy Tutoring
I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to make a meaningful difference in a student's learning journey. I find it especially rewarding to see students gradually understand concepts they once found challenging and become more confident in their own abilities. For me, tutoring is not simply about helping students achieve better results, but also about encouraging curiosity, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning. I strive to build genuine connections with my students so they feel supported, motivated and comfortable throughout the learning process.
