What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love helping students save time and stress by relaying to them not only my knowledge of the subject, but also methods and tricks I have experimented with myself to maximise the ratio of time spent studying versus rate of improvement in grades and knowledge. As someone who was very busy in my personal life during high school, I particularly find satisfaction in teaching others how they can smash their goals both academically and in their personal lives without sacrificing one or the other.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe I can gauge students' potentials well, which is often higher than what they set their goals to be. I am understanding of each students' personal goals and will adjust my style and methods of teaching based on their goals and personality, but I also love to push them to experiment with new ways of thinking, hopefully allowing them to realise that they are capable of more than what they expect. I can also very clearly distinguish between true learning in terms of logical and critical thinking development, and what markers look for in band 6 responses.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor needs to provide a supportive learning environment for students. Tutoring is beyond explaining concepts and providing resources. I believe understanding the students' personal goals, personality and style of learning will allow me to provide them with a supportive learning environment where they are able to comfortably ask questions whether it is during or outside of the tutoring session times, instead of being scared.

About Phoebe
I love fitness and sports!
I have tried several sports since I was a baby; ice skating, swimming, skiing, sailing, gymnastics, dance, badminton - to name a few. For the past few years though, I've been mostly invested in weightlifting and volleyball, I've competed in nationals and plan to do so again later this year!
I achieved a 97.8 ATAR without sacrificing my personal interests
I scored a 96 in Maths Advanced, 44 in Maths Extension 1 and 90 in Physics in the HSC. I studied hard and efficiently whilst continuing to train for sport, work out, go out with friends and complete my Visual Arts major work. Methods I learnt to manage my time include aligning my study sessions to my circadian rhythm and using reward systems. As someone who values and loves the things I do outside of school so much, I would love to show others how they too can continue their extra-curriculars without sacrificing marks.
I am now studying Architecture and Civil Engineering at USYD!
I have practiced and loved visual arts since pre-kindergarten and also love the abstract thinking and application-type questions involved in maths and physics. I was lucky enough to find a double-degree at USYD that encompasses both of these fields and am now studying architecture and civil engineering there :)
