What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

The most rewarding part of tutoring is seeing a student’s confidence grow. I love those moments when something finally “clicks” after they’ve been struggling with it. It’s also incredibly fulfilling to watch students become more independent, ask thoughtful questions, and realise they’re capable of achieving more than they initially thought. Knowing I’ve played a small role in that journey is what keeps me passionate about tutoring.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

One of my biggest strengths as a tutor is making complex ideas feel simple and manageable. As a Biomedicine student, I’ve learned that understanding why something works is far more valuable than memorising it, and I teach with that same mindset. I’m patient, encouraging, and I adapt my explanations until they make sense to each individual student. I also focus on building confidence, because I’ve found that students often perform their best once they believe they are capable.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing I can do is help students believe in themselves while giving them the skills to succeed independently. Rather than simply helping them complete homework, I want them to understand concepts deeply, develop effective study habits, and learn how to approach problems with confidence. I also strive to create a positive, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and aren’t afraid to make mistakes.

About Yashvi

My Academic Journey

I’m currently studying Biomedicine in the Monash Biomedical Scholars Program, where I’ve continued pursuing my passion for science and learning. Throughout high school, I achieved an ATAR of 95.95 and was awarded Dux of Biology, but what I’m most proud of is the discipline and consistency I developed to reach those goals. Those experiences taught me study strategies that I now enjoy sharing with my students to help them succeed in their own learning.

Why I Love Tutoring

I’ve been tutoring for several years because I genuinely enjoy helping students reach their potential. Every student learns differently, and I enjoy finding creative ways to explain concepts so they make sense to that individual. Whether we’re working through maths problems, improving English skills, or preparing for exams, I aim to make lessons engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s goals.

Looking Ahead

My long-term goal is to become a doctor, and tutoring is one of the ways I can make a positive impact while working towards that dream. Both medicine and teaching are centred around helping people, building trust, and communicating clearly. Tutoring has strengthened those skills and reinforced my belief that even small amounts of guidance and encouragement can make a lasting difference in someone’s confidence and future success.
