What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing the moment when something finally clicks for a student. I know from my own experience that subjects like maths and economics can seem overwhelming until someone explains them in a simple way. I enjoy breaking difficult concepts into smaller, easier steps and watching students become more confident as they start solving problems on their own. It's rewarding to know that you're not just helping someone with one assignment or test, but building their confidence and changing how they approach learning in the future.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think I'm someone who's easy to learn from because I'm patient and approachable. I've always enjoyed helping classmates and friends when they were stuck, especially in maths and economics. I don't like rushing people or making them feel bad for not understanding something straight away. I try to explain things, using examples until it clicks. I also like getting to know how someone learns because what works for one student might not work for another. I also enjoy talking to people and making them feel comfortable asking questions, so I'd want every student to feel like there's no such thing.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do is help a student believe they can actually understand the subject. A lot of students don't struggle because they're not capable, they struggle because they've lost confidence or haven't had something explained in a way that works for them. A tutor should be patient, encourage questions and create an environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes. Of course, improving marks is important, but I think building confidence and helping students become independent learners is what makes the biggest difference in the long run.
