What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping students become genuinely curious about what they are learning. It feels rewarding to see them develop a deeper understanding of the material and ask thoughtful questions. Tutoring is also a valuable learning experience for me, as it encourages me to deepen my own understanding and explain concepts in ways that are clear and meaningful to each student. Knowing that I can make learning more enjoyable motivates me to continue tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my greatest strengths as a tutor are my adaptability and patience. As a psychology student, I understand that every student has different learning styles and pace. Therefore, I take the time to understand their interests and goals before tailoring my teaching approach to create a supportive learning environment. As a peer study leader in high school, I regularly explained concepts in different ways until my peers were able to explain it confidently with their own words. This not only strengthened their understanding but also helped them improve their academic performance.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is teach with a growth mindset and empower students. A tutor should help students build confidence in their own abilities and encourage them to believe that they can succeed, even when the material is challenging. It is also important to foster a deeper understanding beyond memorising theory by guiding students to apply what they learn to real-life situations. By doing so, students become more independent, engaged, and motivated learners.
