What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
One of the most enjoyable aspects of tutoring for me has to be the opportunity to connect with students through personalised lessons, helping them through challenges and fostering growth. Shaping my approach and understanding to each student/classroom learning environment is very a rewarding experience.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I believe my strengths are attention-to-detail and my enthusiasm. I tend to identify patterns with the students gaps and learning struggles, helping me structure my explanations to fit their mental framework and pick up on inaccuracies in content that follow the WA curriculum. My enthusiasm in learning and teaching is something felt by students and actively encourages a healthy, enjoyable learning environment.
Most important things I can do for a student π
An intentional, personalised approach to pacing, structure, strategy and variety of lessons from the tutors end is an essential element to the students learning outcomes. A great tutor will raise concerns in a progressive, encouraging manner, encourage overcoming challenges and uplift students when theyβre overwhelmed rather than dismiss, invalidate or punish their shortcomings. I believe establishing a balance between being a supportive, kind partner in their learning journey and being a responsible educator upholding them to a specific standard and setting expectations is vital.
