I think I am a patient person, so I am happy to explain a concept multiple times in different ways to make sure the student understands it, and can complete an example without my assistance. I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to make sure the student understands the concept, rather than just memorising the steps to complete the questions. Another thing that i think is important things for a tutor to do for a student is to build up their confidence in the particular subject they are tutoring. As students may feel down of sad that they are bad at a subject, we need to be there to help and encourage them and create a working space that is safe for them.Tutoring students in 👦 👧

She could solve addition problems with ease and knew most of her basic times tables. She understood how to find the probability of a certain even when given a scenario, and understood how to use basic math facts (subtraction) in those certain scenarios. Simple fractions with a denominator of 10, she can easily turn into percentages. She was engaged in all concepts.
Needs to improve on her timetables and division, as well us subtraction with borrowing. These are the fundamental basis of math, and everything is built on this. We can build up on her memory retention, especially with multiplication tables, allowing her to understand division better. This can be done through constant revision of her times tables everyday (for example in flashcards) - at least 15 mins. She could try to talk out her process to herself, allowing her to see what she is thinking, and fix any mistakes in her process.
