What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy the moment a concept finally clicks for a student — when something that felt confusing or frustrating suddenly makes sense and you can see their confidence grow along with their understanding. Having tutored informally, I've found it really rewarding to help someone go from "I don't get this at all" to being able to explain the concept back to me in their own words.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I'm patient and good at explaining things in a few different ways until one clicks, since not every student learns the same concept the same way. I'm also good at breaking down bigger problems into smaller, manageable steps, and at picking up on where exactly a student's understanding breaks down rather than just re-explaining the whole topic from scratch. Because I'm not far removed from school myself, I can usually relate to the way students are thinking about a problem and meet them where they're at.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important things are: figuring out exactly what a student does and doesn't understand before jumping into teaching, building their confidence so they feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions, and making sure they can solve similar problems on their own afterward — not just the one in front of them. A good tutor should also be patient and encouraging, so the student stays motivated instead of feeling discouraged when something is difficult.
