What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing students become more confident in themselves. Having experienced different education systems and adapting to the Australian curriculum myself, I understand how overwhelming learning can sometimes feel. I love breaking difficult concepts into simple steps and seeing that moment when something finally makes sense. Itโs incredibly rewarding to know Iโve helped someone believe in their own abilities.My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
My biggest strengths are patience, empathy, and clear communication. Because I had to adapt to a completely different curriculum and overcome language and educational challenges, I understand that every student learns differently. I explain concepts in multiple ways until they understand, and I always create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I am also organised, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping my students succeed.Most important things I can do for a student ๐
I believe the most important role of a tutor is to build a students confidence while helping them truly understand the material, rather than simply memorising it. A good tutor should be patient, listen to the students needs, adapt their teaching style, and encourage independent thinking. I also think itโs important to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, because thatโs how real learning happens. About Minatalaah Ali Basil
A liitle about me
Iโm a joyful, ambitious and enthusiastic 21-year-old who genuinely enjoys learning and helping others grow. Iโm a future UNSW student, where Iโll be pursuing my studies in Pharmaceutical Science and a Master of Pharmacy. Iโm someone who loves setting goals for myself and working hard to achieve them, and I hope to bring that same motivation and positivity into my tutoring sessions. Outside of study, I love travelling, reading stories and novels, and one of my favourite hobbies is crocheting amigurumi โ creating cute handmade toys. Iโm also the eldest of three sisters, which has taught me a lot about patience, encouragement and being supportive of others. I hope to create a comfortable and positive environment where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes and improving at their own pace.
My academic journey
My academic journey through the HSC taught me the importance of consistency, discipline and believing in your own abilities. I completed the HSC with an ATAR of 90.50 and studied a broad range of challenging subjects, including Mathematics Extension 1, Mathematics Advanced, English Advanced, Chemistry, Biology, Arabic Continuers and Arabic Extension. I was also fortunate to achieve a state rank of 4th, which was one of the highlights of my HSC journey. These experiences gave me a strong understanding of both the academic demands of senior high school and the challenges students can face when preparing for assessments and exams. As a tutor, my goal is not simply to help students find the correct answer, but to help them understand the concepts, develop effective study habits and build the confidence to tackle questions independently. I particularly enjoy working with students from Years 6โ10 and senior students studying Mathematics, including Mathematics Advanced.
