What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Helping students to enjoy learning and develop a passion for STEM.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Having previously volunteered with Migrant and Refugee Settlement Services as a tutor, I have experience tutoring those with a non-English speaking background, or those who are struggling to settle in at school after moving to a new country. I consider myself a compassionate and patient tutor who likes to form a personal rapport with students. I believe everyone with the right motivation and support can do well and enjoy school, and I want to encourage students to push themselves and achieve what they think they can't.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Many tutors can simply explain content and answer questions, but I believe a great tutor inspires a passion for the field of study in the student. While supporting students to achieve their best grades is important to me, the best feeling as a tutor is seeing students who previously struggled and didn't enjoy a subject find things about it that they find interesting, and start to take initiative in learning themselves. For me, that is my goal in tutoring, especially in subjects such as maths and chemistry, which students often find boring or difficult learning through high school curriculum.
