What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most is watching a concept click for a student who thought they "just weren't a maths person." Having taught for over a decade, I've learned confidence matters as much as ability. I like breaking problems into small, manageable steps and connecting abstract ideas to something tangible. That one "aha" moment, when a student suddenly trusts themselves to solve a problem alone, is what keeps me coming back to teaching maths and physics.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My biggest strength is making difficult concepts feel manageable. With an MS in Electrical Engineering from NYU and years of teaching experience, I'm used to breaking complex problems into clear, logical steps, which translates directly into how I teach maths and physics. I'm patient with students who need extra time, and I adapt my explanations, whether through real-world examples, diagrams, or rephrasing, until something clicks. I also listen closely, so I can spot exactly where understanding breaks down.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing a tutor can do is build a student's confidence alongside their knowledge. Many students who struggle with maths and physics aren't lacking ability, they've just had a gap in understanding that knocked their self-belief. A good tutor pinpoints exactly where that gap is, explains it patiently in a way that makes sense to that student, and makes it safe to get things wrong while learning. Just as important is teaching students to think through problems independently, not just find the right answer.

About Hadia

About Me

I’m an experienced educator with over 10 years of teaching experience and a strong background in mathematics, science and engineering. I hold a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students with different abilities and learning styles, helping them understand challenging concepts and become more confident in their studies.

My Teaching Approach

I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and are given the time to understand the basics properly. I like to break difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps and adapt my teaching style to each student. I focus not only on getting the right answer, but also on helping students understand why a method works so they can apply it independently.

What I Aim to Achieve

My goal as a tutor is to help students strengthen their foundations, improve their problem-solving skills and build confidence in their own abilities. I am patient, encouraging and organised, and I aim to create lessons where students feel supported while still being challenged to make steady progress. I also value clear communication with parents so we can work together to support the student’s learning.
