What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I find it especially rewarding when a student who once struggled to grasp a concept ends up smiling with confidence, able to work through the questions on their own and see the results in their grades.My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I would say my biggest strengths are compassion and patience. I really value each student's individual learning experience, and I know that every student is different, so I try to adapt my approach rather than teaching the same way to everyone. I don't move on until a student actually understands the why behind something, not just the steps to get an answer.Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing is really understanding how each student learns, not just what they're struggling with. I try to be patient and break things down until it actually clicks for them, not just enough to get through the next assignment. And I think creating a space where they feel comfortable asking questions, even if they think it's a silly one, makes a huge difference. He gained much more confidence when working through division questions and became more comfortable with the concepts introduced. The Penguin Multiplication games also helped make learning more enjoyable and supported his understanding through interactive practice.
Tommy sometimes felt intimidated when he saw larger numbers in division questions. He needed encouragement and reassurance to build his confidence and attempt the questions. Moving forward, we will continue practising division with gradually increasing difficulty to help Tommy feel more comfortable and confident when approaching challenging problems.

Tommy did really well with four-digit addition and demonstrated a good understanding of the carrying process. He is also becoming more confident with multiplication and was able to work out his answers more quickly. He showed good focus during the activities and was willing to attempt questions independently. His speed and confidence with multiplication have improved compared with previous lessons.
Tommy still needs some improvement with addition questions that involve multiple carrying steps. He sometimes finds it more challenging when there are several numbers to carry, so we will continue practising these types of questions to build his accuracy and confidence. We will focus on taking each step carefully and checking his work to reduce mistakes. With continued practice, Tommy should become more comfortable handling more complex addition problems.

Thomas is able to multiply confidently using the numbers 1, 2, 5, and 10. He demonstrates a good understanding of these multiplication facts and is becoming more comfortable solving questions independently. He was able to apply these skills during the activities and showed good concentration throughout the lesson.
Thomas still experiences some difficulty when multiplying by 3 and 4. He tends to rely on repeated addition rather than using skip counting or recalling multiplication facts from memory.
