What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is being able to watch my tutee's progress in academics be accelerated, and in doing so, by helping others, I am also able to enhance myself and hone my own academic abilities by being able to manage various areas of education and being sharp with my cognitive skills. Which in turn, help me throughout my own personal life as well.My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths are that I am able to view questions and topics in an intuitive way, and remove all the fluff that is being taught in textbooks and schools, and am able to give clear and effective methods and exam strategies that have high efficacy. By completing the rigorous IBDP, I have a well-rounded understanding of exam styles (for IB, I have not tutored for normal HSC or ATAR subjects, however for math this should be generally a non-issue, sciences may be affected), and am able to provide advise not only academiccaly but also in life in general.Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Going on from my previous response, the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to obviously listen to the needs and adapt to the students' strenghts and weaknesses. This means with more experience, and I am hopeful to gain alot of experience with commerical tutoring here at Ezymath, I will be able to hone my own teaching skills and to be a better academic tutor. Outside of academics I also believe that being a good role model and helping students win their outer game (mechanics) and also their inner game (mentality) is imperative given that the latter is often overlooked by manySubjects Tutored 🎓

About Louis
My Achievements
Hello, my name is Louis Choi and I am a dedicated tutor and current Bachelor of Laws and Commerce (Honours) student at the University of Queensland. I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a score of 42/45, graduating among the top students in my cohort with top-of-the-school marks for Maths (AAHL), Physics HL and Psychology HL, developing strong skills in both analytical and written subjects. I have also participated in many academic competitions during my time as a student, achieving: 1st place in the secondary division STEM Cup across Queensland, 1st place in the middle school Science Trivia across the Gold Coast, Highest Individual Scorer in the Gold Coast for the APSMO (Australasian Problem Solving Mathematical Olympiads) in primary school. I also have experience in extracurriculars, such as playing the alto saxophone to an AMEB 8 level, winning 3rd place in the 2017 Gold Coast Eisteddfod.
How I tutor
I aim to tutor students to become more confident, self-reliant, and able to develop and hone their intuition to be able to tackle complex topics and questions with ease. In sessions, I hope to develop a strong connection with my tutees to allow my tutoring sessions to be more organised and supportive for the student. I will break down complex ideas into simple, logical steps that develop the student's intuition, and will check that the student truly understand the concept rather than just memorise. I am passionate about bringing the best out of my students, and hope that the student is also able to bring their best to each tutoring session to ensure that the benefits of my tutoring and tips and tricks that I teach will be maximised.
