What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most is the moment something finally clicks for a student, when a concept they've been struggling with suddenly makes sense, and you can see their confidence lift. It's genuinely rewarding to be part of that. I also love that tutoring is such an individual experience, so I get to understand how each student thinks and adapt to them, rather than teaching in a generic, one-size-fits-all way. Building that rapport and watching someone grow over time is easily the best part.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I'd say patience and adaptability are my biggest strengths. I'm good at reading when a student isn't quite following and finding a different way to explain something until it lands, whether that's through an analogy, an example, or breaking it down step by step. I'm also calm and approachable, which helps students feel comfortable asking questions and admitting when they're stuck. On top of that, I'm a clear communicator, reliable and well-organised, so sessions are structured and purposeful.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing is to build a student's confidence and independence, not just help them get the right answer. A good tutor helps a student understand the "why" behind a problem so they can eventually tackle similar ones on their own. Beyond the academic side, it's important to be encouraging and patient, to create a space where mistakes are treated as part of learning, and to genuinely care about the student's progress. The ultimate goal is to leave them more capable and self-assured than when you started.
