What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most is seeing the moment when a student finally understands something they previously found difficult. I love helping students become more confident in Maths and realise that they are capable of solving problems on their own. It is especially rewarding to see their attitude change from “I can’t do this†to “I actually understand this!â€
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I would say my main strengths are patience, communication and adaptability. Through my teaching placement and tutoring experience, I have learned that every student understands things differently. I am happy to explain the same concept in several different ways, break difficult problems into smaller steps, and adjust my teaching depending on the student’s needs. I am also friendly and approachable, so I want students to feel comfortable telling me when they don’t understand something.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing is to help students become confident and independent learners, rather than simply giving them answers. A good tutor should identify where a student is struggling, explain concepts clearly, provide plenty of encouragement and teach them how to approach problems by themselves. I also think creating a comfortable environment where students are not afraid to ask questions or make mistakes is extremely important.
