What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love being able to give to students the same thing that I loved about learning: that 'aha' moment when something clicks is something that you don't get in many other aspects of life, and to be able to give that to someone else is a great satisfaction.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I'd like to think of myself as personable and easily communicable. I also try to urge the student to come up with the solution themselves. Like I said in the last question, my aim as a tutor is to give the student that 'aha' moment when they realise that they can solve something on their own and they understand they did it and how to continue that with other problems. I have had too many teachers/friends in the past that are happier to get the problem done themselves and just have the student watch them do it, which I don't believe is allowing the student to understand how he/she can do it.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Allow the student to be able to solve a problem on their own. A tutor is meant to provide the necessary tools and assistance required to solve a problem - but not the solution itself. The most important thing a tutor can do is to know their boundary: how much help is necessary in order for a problem to be solved without overstepping into solving the problem themselves.
