What do I enjoy most about tutoring?
I love seeing my students do better and better, and their confidence level rise because of my help. I believe I am putting my knowledge into good use through tutoring students in need for help.
My Strengths as Tutor
I have a great amount of patience to offer. One of my students has difficulty learning maths due to some medical conditions, but we've been going very well in our sessions because I was always very patient with him, and didn't mind repeating the concepts over and over again. Additionally, I like kids a lot, so I always get on very well with my students. Besides, I have a passion for maths, which is often conveyed through my teaching and creates an impact on my students, making them realise that maths can be enjoybale.
Most important things I can do for a student
1. To raise the student's confidence level. One of the students' mom commented on how I was always encouraging her daughter, and she found that so important, because if her daughter kept feeling bad about herself and kept doubting her abilities, she would probably never be able to do well.
2. To make the session interesting. It would be tough for a student to sit through a few hours of boring tutoring after a long day of school. I think it's important to keep the sessions interesting, so that the student will be more willing to be engaged in them.
