What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The sense of satisfaction felt when a student understands a concept and they improve drastically in following assessments. Such improvements show that as a tutor, you are doing your job correctly.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor, I am able to cater for the needs of my students. I am able to adapt my style of teaching to help the various types of students (e.g. visual learners in mathematics).
I am very approachable allowing students to feel at ease with me and am willing to give them the freedom to contact me at any time with questions outside and in class.
I completed VCE (completed Maths Methods and Specialist Maths) two years ago and thus have a very thorough knowledge of what is expected of students and what key areas need emphasis.
Over the past two years of tutoring, I have been able to develop a number of resources that both provide students with comprehensive notes and prepare students for when they face challenging questions.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor can ultimately change the perception a student has of a particular subject. If the tutor can truly explain things in a good manner, a student can change from hating the subject to finding it manageable and may even start enjoying the subject.
However, the most important thing a tutor can do is provide a service that is catered to the needs of a student. Whether that is improving grades, getting ahead or help solidify knowledge. The close attention paid allows students to get more understanding out of tutoring sessions than traditional school lessons.
