Christina was able to grasp integers and we did extensive practice on the foundations of algebra. Her confidence in her ability to do algebra is growing.

I have given her homework to complete. We will continue to develop her foundational maths skills in preparation for standard maths next year.

We went through the algebra Christina had struggled with while learning online. She picked up the concepts quickly and after revision was able to apply them to examples.

Christina is going to use the revision we did to work through the rest of the work. We will focus on the other areas for the test in the next lesson. Christina is eager to learn and after explanations seems to understand the concepts.

Christina was able to identify issues that she needed help with. She reported having successfully worked through her work from last week. After some examples she was able to understand stem and leaf plots and mean, medians and modes of data. We revised finding midpoints and gradients.

We did as much as we could to prepare her for her test. Moving forward we will continue to improve her basic algebra. Christina has identified having issues with taking too long to complete the maths so we will work on improving her speed of doing maths.

Alyssa focused and engaged well throughout the lesson. She caught onto the concepts around factorizing quickly and was able to understand as I increased the difficulty. Alyssa managed to solve equations with two x terms. This is the first time she has been able to do it.

We will continue to work on Alyssa's algebra. Although she has improved greatly I feel she is not yet at the level that will be required in year 9 with foundation knowledge often missing.
