What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I have been tutoring for my peer students' maths since year 9 after I came from China, however, my commercial tutoring starts at the October of 2018 and finishes at the end of the year as most my students went to their holidays. I personally feel joy and a sense of satisfaction when I see my students, who are most likely to be my best friends, to try their best and achieve their expectations in most of the cases.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor, my strengths are in scientific areas such as maths (MM, 41.47; SM, 45.57) or physics (44.3) /chemistry (40.24), I would be ashamed for boasting my English skills for tutoring purpose. However, it certainly wouldn't hinder the process of tutoring of other subjects as I am capable of utilizing standard English. By the way, I am also a narrative Chinese, which ensures my communication skills with students who happen to have a Chinese background.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
For me, I personally consider the ability of independent thinking is what a tutor really needs to teach his students across all the subjects, it is not only about memorizing the standardized formulas of problem-solving but also understanding the hidden logic of the methods. I believe the most important thing I should've done to my students is to make sure when they walk out my classes, their academic performance would be as good as if I were still there checking on them. It is not really about how much I've taught, but it's a story about how much they actually learned at the end of the day.
