What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The thing I enjoy most about tutoring is if I see the students excited. Often, that's because of two things. Either they notice that they're getting better and score better grades at the subjects they were first struggling with. Or they actually get excited about the matter of the subject and start to grow interest. I do think these two things go hand in hand. I really enjoy when I can help them achieve that.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I would say one of my greatest strengths is that my enthusiasm can be very contagious. If I read or see something I find interesting or fun, I quickly feel the need to share that excitement with whoever is sitting next to me. Often I see it as a challenge to get the other person as excited as I am. Also, in my experience I'm an easy person to feel comfortable around. Often I try to set the mood with a silly joke or I try to get to know the person a little better. Since I have been doing tutoring for quite some time now, I learned to connect with all different kinds of people.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for the student is make him/her feel like he/she could ask any question there is. That's what makes the individual, one-on-one contact valuable in my opinion. Creating a setting where the student feels comfortable enough to do that is the most important thing. The student should feel like I'm there to help him/her. Also, making sure the student gains confidence in the subjects she's struggling with is a good thing.
