What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy working through students' struggles and helping them grasp concepts, to explain concepts in a way they can understand. I have been tutoring academically-disadvantaged students since 2012, and one of the greatest rewards is watching students gain more confidence after clearing their misconceptions. It's not about how 'intellectual' students feel they are, but that they can recognise what they are struggling with, and how they can learn from it and apply the correct techniques the next time they encounter similar questions.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am patient and willing to go the extra mile to make sure students have completely understood what I taught, instead of having them solely copying the steps I have listed out for them. As a university student myself, I also understand the stresses that come along with school, and will do my best to empathise any tiredness or anxiety students may feel.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to listen to their rationale or misunderstandings behind certain concepts, instead of trying to force feed mathematical solutions to them.

Taylor was able to do questions on conversion of units by herself. With help, she was able to do questions on area and circumference of circles. She focused well today and followed through the teachings. She also took notes for the different formulas.
Taylor needs prompting to remember formulas. It will be good if she can remember the key ones for area and circumference of circles.
