What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the fact that you can pass on your own knowledge to the students and help them achieve their goals and improve their academic skills in a non-confronting environment. I believe having that one-on-one time between a tutor and student is very effective and helps to create a comfortable and trusted learning space where students feel safe asking questions that can be otherwise undermined in school and public environments.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my strongest strength is the ability to create a fun learning environment while efficiently meeting the needs of the student. Taking advantage of the one-on-one time with the student, I can easily relate to each student and see things from their perspective rather than imposing my own view on theirs. This enables me to figure out the methods of problem-solving that best suits them as well as how I am going to deliver these explanations so that it makes sense to them.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to guide the student rather than simply tell them what to do. Especially in subjects like maths, I think it is the theory behind every topic that is most important and is something that I would make sure the student fully understands before jumping into exercises. That way, when it comes to answering questions, I would be there more to guide them through the question rather than telling them how to answer it, ensuring they themselves fully understand the application behind each question.
