What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I have not tutored before but I think it would be a really great opportunity for me to give back to the community. Iβve been wanting to increase my involvement in the community and I feel as though helping students to further understand studies is a great way for me to contribute. This opportunity would further my skills by teaching different people, as well as providing aspects of leadership.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
Well, through my experience as a crew chief and manager at McDonaldβs I was given the opportunity to train up many different people. I understand different ways people learn and it is important to figure this out in the early stages of their training (in this case, tutoring). I have not had prior experience as a tutor but I would try very hard to become a great tutor and mentor for the students.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe an important component of tutoring is patience, ensuring that the student completely understands the topic before moving on. This leads into following up. Following up the previous session for a couple of minutes in the next lesson is highly beneficial as the student can show their understanding of the topic, allowing the opportunity to go over it again. I think the personal one on one time with a tutor allows the student to feel comfortable to ask questions, ones they otherwise would not ask in class.

Each concept i explained she was quick to understand. I would make her do an example to show her understanding and mostly, she was very comprehensive.
